After holding in his unspoken feelings for five years, high school student Taiju Oki is finally ready to confess his love to Yuzuriha Ogawa. However, just as Taiju starts to confess, a blinding green light hits the Earth and turns all humans into stone. Thousands of years later, Taiju awakens to find that modern society no longer exists and nature has taken over humanity. In a world filled with stone statues, Taiju encounters another living human: his friend, Senku, who is a science enthusiast and has just started his activities. Taiju's physical strength and Senku's brain combine to uncover the mystery behind the petrification. However, Senku's main plan is threatened by the person who saves him. Meanwhile, the reason behind humanity's petrification remains unknown.
